The MERAJ Rapid Intervention Vehicle (MRIV) Series is an airfield first-response vehicle engineered for high speed, rapid acceleration and fast arrival at aircraft incidents. Built on a 4×4 all-wheel-drive commercial or specialized chassis, the MRIV maintains stability across runways, taxiways, grass perimeters and unpaved airfield ground.
MRIV vehicles carry water, foam concentrate and Dry Chemical Powder (DCP). Roof- or bumper-mounted monitors allow crew members to begin agent application while approaching an incident, while side compartmentation stores rescue tools, breathing apparatus and entry equipment.
MERAJ configures MRIV units in Light, Medium and Heavy Duty levels to suit category requirements at airfields, helipads and regional airports. Airport authorities comparing first-response vehicles can also review the heavy-duty Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Vehicle (ARFF) and the broader MERAJ Fire Fighting & Rescue Vehicles range.
The Heavy Duty MRIV represents a high-capacity RIV configuration designed to support larger aircraft movement areas and specialized aviation response teams. The vehicle incorporates maximum RIV water/foam capacity, high-output monitors and dedicated equipment stowage for extrication and rescue tools. MERAJ aligns RIV designs with applicable aviation safety requirements and operational response targets. For municipal and structural emergency response, explore the Urban Fire Truck (MFT).
